Antwerp

is a major destination of Belgium in the region of Flanders. The overwhelming friendliness of the people of Antwerp and their innate penchant for good food and good living, combined with their low stress lifestyle, makes it a desirable and relaxing place to visit. Renowned for being the “world’s leading diamond city”, more than 70% of all diamonds are traded in Antwerp.

In the 16th century, Antwerp was one of the most important financial centers of the world, where traders from all over Europe and Asia sold and bought their goods. After the siege of Antwerp in 1585 by the Spanish, this role as a financial center was taken over by Amsterdam. Nevertheless, since the 19th century and especially the 20th century, Antwerp has made a serious economic comeback. It is the second largest city in Belgium, after Brussels, and it has a major European port.

Due to its long and culturally rich history, the city of Antwerp houses many interesting historical buildings from different historical periods, as well as a lot of interesting museums.

Recently it has become a trendy city, attracting a lot of Flemish and foreign artists, writers, intellectuals, and actors. This is reflected in the city’s many trendy bars and shops. Antwerp is a city with many faces. While it may not be as historically preserved as other Flemish medieval cities, like Bruges or Ghent, it is a very dynamic city, offering a perfect mix of history and present-day modern life.

Payment is possible through bank transfer or credit card.

Note: this group discount does not apply to the pre-conference workshops.

No, that’s not possible. Pre-conference workshops are only available to conference attendees. As the max. capacity per class is limited, we give priority to conference participants. In the event that the max. capacity is not reached, then the pre-conference workshops might be available for non-conference attendees as well.

Yes, you can register for the conference first and later decide to attend a pre-conference workshop. When you are ready to register for the pre-conference class, use the contact form and let us know the workshop you want to attend. We will send you a link to settle the payment.

As the max. capacity per workshop is limited, we suggest not to wait with registering for these classes though. We might run out of space very soon.

Access to the walking dinner on Thursday evening is included in the full conference fee. If you can’t spend 2 days at the conference or if you want to invite your relations, then a separate ticket can be purchased. This ticket will give you access to the walking dinner & expo area on Thursday 13 June 2024.

The admission fee is 75 EUR (excl. 21% VAT).

Yes, sure.

The invoice will be send to the e-mail address that was specified when registering, after we have received your payment. If you payed by credit card, this is usually the same day. For bank transfers, this can take some days. Your payment must reach us within 14 days (= two weeks) after registration. After that period, your registration is cancelled automatically if no payment is received!

Please be sure your spam filters will allow mail from registration AT bctechdays.com, otherwise you won’t receive the payment details mail.

We noticed the previous years that some people didn’t receive the mail containing the link to download their conference (and workshop) ticket. When you provide your mobile phone number, we will also send you a SMS text message containing that link.

The mobile phone no. will not be used for other communications other than last minute details regarding the conference. We will not call you. We will not send you commercial messages. These SMS messages are powered by bulksms.com.

When you submit your picture, this will be visible on the Attendees List which will be published on the conference website. This is a list of all participants with their name, company, job title and country. This picture is also used in your profile on the conference app. Details of the app will be provided approx. one month before the start of the event.

Two weeks before the start of the conference, we will send you a mail (to the e-mail address used when registering). This mail contains a link to your admission ticket, which needs to be printed out and handed over at the registration desk at the entrance of the conference venue. In return of this admission ticket paper, you receive your conference badge and guide.

If you also attend one of the pre-conference workshops, a 2nd link appears in this mail. Please print this admission ticket as well, as it should be handed over at the registration desk of the conference hotel.

If you don’t have received this mail one week before the start of the conference, then let us know so we can track down the cause. It’s probably sent to a different e-mail address, blocked by a spam filter or we haven’t received payment yet.

If you have supplied your mobile phone number during registration, we’ll send you a SMS containing the link to download your conference (and/or workshop) ticket.

Note: Admission tickets are only available for registrations which are fully payed.

Yes, that’s possible. If you want to change the name of a participant, you can just send us a mail with the new details. We will update the registrant details, free of charge. Changing the names is possible at no cost, until 10 June 2024.

Alternatively, you can use the edit link which appears in the mail containing your registration details, and update the data yourself.

Yes, some details (like name, company name, job title, mobile phone no., ...) you can update yourself. Use the “edit data” link which you find in the mail containing your registration details. This will bring you to a page where you can review and edit your personal details.

For any cancellation occurring on or before 15 April 2024, the full registration fee will be refunded minus a 40 EUR administration fee. No refunds will be issued on any cancellations after 15 April 2024.

There are many different requirements to obtain a visa to enter countries. Some embassies may request a conference attendee to present a letter from the Conference Organizer to verify their intentions to attend that specific conference. It may also be necessary to verify that the requester has paid the registration fee in full.

For more info: see websites of Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs and Belgium Visa Application Requirements.

We will create such an invitation letter:

  • when you have registered for the conference, and
  • when we have received your payment of the conference fee, and
  • when you have booked a stay in a nearby hotel.

Please supply a copy of your passport when you apply for a visa invitation letter as well as a copy of your hotel booking. Please send your request to info AT bctechdays.com.

COVID

The Belgian government has issued travel advice per country. Please review the What to do when you arrive in Belgium? website to find out if you need to self-quarantine and when you should get tested.

From 23 May 2022, measures will only apply to travellers coming from a very high risk country.

The coronavirus barometer, which has been switched to code yellow since March 2022, has been deactivated. This has been decided by the Consultative Committee. As a result, the requirement to wear a face mask on public transport and to complete the Passenger Locator Form for most trips was lifted as of Monday 23 May 2022.

https://www.info-coronavirus.b...

There are currently no COVID-19 restrictions for events in Belgium (no obligatory face masks, no social distancing…). Nevertheless, we will foresee hand sanitizer dispensers all over the site. Furthermore, self-tests (rapid antigen tests) as well as details of nearby test centers are available at the information desk.
